Did it go back on the shelf, or did it just disappear?
Refunding the money and putting the item back are two different decisions. Lunix makes you make both — and if you defer one, it stays on a list with a price on it.

How it works today
How it works in Lunix
Every item that comes back gets a destination
Not every return is the same movement. Something fine goes straight back into sellable stock; something faulty joins that supplier's open box; something worthless is written off and the loss is recorded. And when you genuinely do not know yet, «decide later» is a real answer that keeps the item on a list instead of under the counter.
What you have not decided yet, and what it is worth
Deferred is not lost — but it is not free either. The pending queue shows every item still waiting on a decision, how many days it has been waiting, and the money sitting in it. Lunix calls that value on hold rather than a loss, because it can still be resold or credited. What it will not do is let it quietly age out of sight.
The supplier's box, and the credit that comes off what you owe
Faulty goods pile up per supplier in an open box. When you close it, the totals freeze and it prints as a report you can send them. The credit they give you is recorded against the box — and you can apply it straight to an open purchase order, which reduces what you owe that supplier instead of becoming a promise in a chat.
The rate, the reason, and how much of it made it back to the shelf
Not just how much came back, but what happened to it — which is the number that tells you whether returns are a cost or just a movement.
One number is worth watching on its own: supplier returns that were never credited. Goods you shipped back and never got money for are a real loss, and they show up as their own line in profit and loss rather than quietly thinning your margin.
Make the stock move when the money moves.
