Cash drawers don't pair with LunixPOS as a separate device. They plug into your thermal receipt printer with an RJ-11 cable, and the printer pops the drawer when LunixPOS sends the kick signal during a cash sale.
- 1
Connect the drawer to your printer
Plug the RJ-11 cable (looks like a phone-line connector) into the back of the cash drawer, then the other end into the matching port on the back of your thermal receipt printer.
- 2
Make sure your printer is paired
Open Settings → Printers and confirm your thermal printer shows Online. If not, see [How to pair your printer](/help-center/hardware/set-up-your-first-receipt-printer/).
- 3
Ring a cash sale
Take any order and pick Cash as the payment method. When you confirm, LunixPOS prints the receipt and triggers the drawer-kick signal — the drawer pops open.
- 4
If the drawer doesn't open
Check the RJ-11 cable is fully seated on both ends and that the printer model supports a drawer kick (most do — Star TSP100, TSP143, and Rongta RP820 all do).
