Four settings decide what the customer reads while you ring the sale. All of them live in Settings → Customer display, and all of them apply to the location you are in — another branch keeps its own.
- 1
Open Settings → Customer display
The panel opens with the pairing controls at the top and the settings below. A line at the top tells you which location these settings apply to; other locations are unaffected.
- 2
Write a welcome message
This is what sits on the screen between sales. Leave it empty and the display falls back to "Welcome". Use the space for something a waiting customer benefits from — your hours, that you repair while they wait, your WhatsApp number.
- 3
Set the customer's language
This is the customer's language, not the cashier's. A bilingual counter can run the register in English and the display in Spanish. It defaults to the store's language.
- 4
Decide about product photos
Show product photos on the basket puts a picture beside each line. Turned off, lines show initials instead. Photos are friendlier, but a slow counter tablet should not be asked to load a dozen images while someone is waiting to pay — if the screen stutters, this is the first thing to turn off.
- 5
Decide how much to say about a repair part
Show the part type controls how specific the screen gets about what you are fitting. On, the customer reads "LCD Screen - Incell". Off, they read "LCD Screen". Turn it on if you sell grades and want the customer to see exactly which one they are paying for; leave it off if naming the part invites an argument at the counter.
- 6
Save, and watch the open cart update
Click Save. The change reaches the screen straight away, including the sale already on it — you do not restart the tablet and you do not wait for the next customer. If there is no sale open, the screen keeps showing your welcome rather than flashing.
Pro tip
- These settings are per location. Setting them at your main branch does nothing for the second one, which is usually what you want and occasionally a surprise.
- Test the welcome message on the actual tablet at the actual distance. Text that reads fine on your laptop is often too small from where the customer stands.
