The display is any tablet or spare screen with a browser — no app to install and no account to log into. You open a page on it, type a six-digit code from the register, and from then on it follows that register's cart.

Point the tablet at the display page
On the tablet, open the display address your register shows you and leave it there. Stand it facing the customer. It needs nothing else: no login, no app store, no keyboard once it is paired.

Generate a code at the register
On the machine your cashier works from, go to Settings → Customer display and click Generate pairing code. Six digits appear with a countdown. The code works once and expires five minutes after it is generated.

Enter the code on the tablet — or scan it
Type the six digits into the tablet's Enter the pairing code boxes. Faster: the register also shows a QR code, and scanning it with the tablet opens the display and pairs it in one move. There is also Copy display link if it is easier to send the address to the tablet.

Pair it to the register, not to a person
Pair from the register row you actually sell from. That is what makes the display survive a shift change — it follows whoever is working that register, with or without a cash drawer open. Pairing from a person means the screen goes quiet the moment someone else takes over.

Check that it says Connected
The settings panel tells you two separate things. No display connected means nothing is talking to us right now — a sleeping tablet or lost Wi-Fi says this within about a minute and a half. Not paired means no tablet was ever linked. A tablet can be paired and not connected, which is normal overnight.

Ring something up
Add an item at the register. It should appear on the tablet immediately, with the running total. Between sales the screen shows your welcome message; after payment it thanks the customer and says the receipt is on its way.

Unpair when the tablet leaves
Click Unpair to cut a tablet loose — a swapped device, a broken screen, one that walked off. If nothing is paired the button is disabled and tells you so rather than pretending to work. The tablet then shows that it was unpaired at the register.
Pro tip
- A paired tablet stays valid for thirty days of silence, which is exactly when you want to unpair it. That is why Unpair does not disappear just because the screen is currently offline.
- If a code does not take, generate a new one rather than retyping. Codes are single-use, so a code that was already entered somewhere will never work again.
- Any tablet works. Pick one whose screen is bright enough to read from the customer's side of the counter, not the cheapest one in the drawer.
