How to track staff sales performance

Use the Sales by Employees report to compare staff on orders, gross sales, returns, and total sales.

Sales by Employees gives you a per-staff breakdown of how each user has performed across the date range you pick. It's the foundation for performance reviews and commission audits.

    Open Reports → Sales by Employees

    From the sidebar, click Reports, then "Sales by Employees" in the Employees section.

    Pick a date range

    The report defaults to a 30-day window. Switch presets or pick a custom range to match your review period.

    Read the columns

    Each row is one staff member:

    • Staff Name
    • POS Location Name — where they rang the orders
    • Orders — number of orders rung
    • Avg Order Value
    • Gross Sales
    • Discounts — total discounts applied
    • Returns — total refunded
    • Net Sales Taxes
    • Taxes
    • Total Sales — the bottom line

    Switch to commissions

    Click the Commissions Over Time tab to drill into commission balances for any of the staff in this report. See [How to pay out commissions](/help-center/finances/pay-out-commissions/) for the payout flow.

    Print the report

    Click Print to open a PDF preview for sharing with your bookkeeper or pinning on the break room wall.

Pro tip

  • Pair this report with the Activity Log if a staff member's numbers look off — the log will tell you whether they were heavy on refunds, big discounts, or void drafts.
