Every product in LunixPOS starts on the same page. You'll pick which kind of product it is, then fill in pricing, stock, and (optionally) variants or IMEIs.
- 1
Open Products → Add product
From the sidebar click Products, then the Add Product button in the top-right of the list.
- 2
Pick the product type
Three options appear:
- Single Item — one SKU, one price, one stock count
- Item With Variants — a parent product with multiple variants (size, color, model compatibility)
- Serialized Item — for electronics where each unit has its own IMEI or serial number (only available on Repair businesses)
- 3
Fill in the basics
Type the product Title and an optional Description. Pick a Category from the searchable dropdown (or tap + New Category to add one inline). Optionally add a Vendor and Product Tags.
- 4
Upload product images
Drag and drop product images into the uploader. Multiple images are supported, up to 5 MB each.
- 5
Set the price and cost
Enter the customer-facing Price, optional Minimum Price (the floor for staff discounts), and your Cost — used for margin reports. Tick Charge Tax on Product and pick a Tax Profile if applicable.
- 6
Set the stock and barcode
Enter the Stock Quantity for this product. Pick a Unit of Measurement (unit, kg, lb…) — for weight-based products LunixPOS will show stock as "totalUnit units + weight". Optionally scan or type a Barcode so cashiers can scan to checkout.
- 7
Save
Click Save. The new product is immediately available on the POS screen and in your inventory reports.
Pro tip
- Use Product Tags (like 'wholesale-only' or 'seasonal') to filter products in reports later.
- If you sell the same product at different prices per location, enable per-location pricing — each location gets its own Price and Cost fields.
