How to use a barcode scanner with LunixPOS

Barcode scanners behave like keyboards — they 'type' the barcode into whatever input is focused. There's no pairing screen for scanners in LunixPOS because none is needed.

   Plug the scanner in

   Connect the USB cable to your computer. The scanner powers on and is ready in a couple of seconds.

   Confirm it 'types'

   Open any text input — like the URL bar of your browser — and scan a barcode. You should see the barcode digits appear. If they do, the scanner is fully working.

   Use it at the POS

   Open the Orders → Create Order screen. The Add item search field is auto-focused — scan a product's barcode and it drops into the cart immediately.

   Use it for IMEI capture

   On a repair intake or when creating a Serialized Item, click into the IMEI field and scan the device IMEI label. The number lands directly in the field.

   Use it for transfers

   On a Stock Transfer create page, click the product search and scan products to add them quickly.
