Charge With Card is a standalone charge: an amount, a description and a card, without an order behind it. It is for the payment that does not fit a sale — a deposit over the phone, a bill somebody owes you, a charge you agreed on WhatsApp.

Open Charge With Card
Go to Charge With Card from the sidebar. This is not the checkout — nothing here touches your inventory.

Enter the amount and say what it is for
Fill in the payment amount and a description. Write the description for the person who will read the statement in a month, not for yourself today: "Deposit — iPhone 13 screen, Maria Perez" beats "payment".

Add cost and tax if they apply
You can attach a cost and a tax to the charge so it lands in your books correctly rather than as a bare amount.

Enter the card and the cardholder
Type the card details and the cardholder name exactly as they appear on the card. Incomplete details are rejected before anything is attempted.

Add the billing address
Fill in the billing address — line, city, state, ZIP, country. On a keyed transaction this is what your processor checks, and a wrong address is a common reason an otherwise good card is declined.

Charge
Click Charge. If the card needs extra authentication and it fails, Lunix tells you that rather than leaving you guessing — try the terminal or a payment link instead.

- A keyed card usually costs you more than one dipped on a terminal, and it carries more of the risk if the customer disputes it. Use the terminal when the customer is standing there.
- For a customer who is not in the shop, a payment link is often better than reading a card number over the phone — they type their own card and you never hold it.
