How to measure your sales pipeline

The Summary view, the four CRM reports, and the one setting all of them depend on.

The board tells you where every lead is standing right now. Measuring is a different question — what came in, what moved, what closed, and who closed it. Lunix answers that in two places, and both of them rest on one piece of setup.

  1. 1

    First, classify your stages

Nothing here works until Lunix knows which of your columns mean won and which mean lost. A column called Won is just a name. Open the stage menu on each column header and set its classification — active, won or lost. Skip this and a board full of closed deals reports a win rate of zero, with no error to tell you why.

  2. 2

    Switch the board to Summary

On the pipeline board, flip the toggle from Board to Summary. One screen: the funnel by stage, four headline figures, an eight-week trend, and the leads that need attention. This is the view for a Monday morning — it is about the state of the pipeline, not about a date range.

  3. 3

    Read the attention list

A lead that has not moved for fourteen days counts as stalled, and that is where this list comes from. It is the most actionable thing in the CRM: not a number to admire but a short list of people waiting on you.

  4. 4

Go to Reports → CRM for the dated questions

Four reports, each answering something the board cannot:

    • Pipeline Snapshot — everything open right now, grouped by board and stage, and what it is worth. No date range, because it is a photograph.
    • Pipeline Flow — for a date range: what entered, what moved, what was won and what was lost. This is the one that tells you whether last month was actually better.
    • Lead Sources — which form, campaign or referral produced the leads, and which produced the wins. Those are rarely the same channel.
    • Sales Agent Performance — who is moving leads forward and whose column has not changed in two weeks.
  5. 5

Trust the history, even when a card moves back

Every stage change is recorded the moment it happens, with the stage it came from and the stage it went to. Dragging a card backwards does not rewrite the past, so Pipeline Flow still shows the trip it actually took. That is why the reports can answer "how long does a quote sit in Contacted" at all.

  6. 6

    Filter and group

The flow reports take a date range, and the rows come grouped by board — so a shop running a retail pipeline and a wholesale pipeline reads them separately without switching reports.

Wskazówka dla profesjonalistów

  • Set your lead sources up once and use them consistently. Lead Sources is only as honest as the field it reads, and half the leads tagged Other makes the report worthless.
  • In wholesale, treat a first order and an active account as won. Whatever your definition, put it in the stage classification rather than in your head — that is the only place the reports can see it.
  • Compare Pipeline Snapshot against Pipeline Flow before you conclude anything. A pipeline that looks healthy in the photograph can be one that nothing has left in six weeks.
