Serialized Items are how LunixPOS handles electronics where each unit needs its own identifier. Each IMEI is tied to a specific stock unit, so you always know which device went to which customer.
- 1
Make sure you're on a Repair business
Serialized Items only show up if your business type is Repair. Switch from Settings → Store settings if needed.
- 2
Open Products → Add product → Serialized Item
On the product-type selector, choose Serialized Item.
- 3
Fill in device details
Pick the Device Brand (or add a new one inline), then the Device Model, Storage, Color, and Condition. These metadata fields make stock filtering easier later.
- 4
Add the IMEIs
Click Add IMEIs to open the IMEI modal. Type a single IMEI at a time or paste a list (one per line) for bulk add. Each IMEI becomes a stock unit attached to this product.
- 5
Set the price and cost
Enter the retail Price, Minimum Price, and Cost per unit. All IMEIs share the same pricing unless you enable per-IMEI pricing.
- 6
Save
Click Save. Each IMEI is now an individually-trackable stock unit in your inventory.
- 7
Sell a serialized unit
At checkout, when you add a serialized product to the cart, LunixPOS asks which exact IMEI you're selling. The chosen IMEI is recorded on the receipt and removed from stock.
Pro tips
- Pair this workflow with a Dymo label printer — print a sticker with the IMEI on intake and stick it to each device.
- The free IMEI Check tool on the LunixPOS website ([/check-imei](/check-imei/)) is also handy for verifying blacklist status before you buy used inventory.
