Every payment method that shows on your checkout modal is configured under Settings → Payment Methods. Built-in methods like Cash, Card, Zelle, PayPal, Cash App, and Affirm each have an on/off toggle. You can also add custom methods for anything LunixPOS doesn't ship by default.
- 1
Open Settings → Payment Methods
From the sidebar click Settings, then Payment Methods.
- 2
Toggle built-in methods on or off
The Payment methods card lists every built-in option: Cash, Card, Debit/Credit Card, E-Transfer, Split Payment, Deposit, Payment Link, Zelle, PayPal, Cash App, and Affirm. Each has a toggle. At least one must stay enabled — LunixPOS blocks disabling them all. Each method also carries its own card-fee setting — see the next step.
- 3
Decide which methods add a card fee
Whether a surcharge applies is a property of the payment method, not of your tax settings — the Taxes screen only links here. Turn the fee on for the methods that cost you money to accept and set the rate. At checkout the cashier and the customer both see the line "Paying by card adds …" before the sale is completed.
- 4
Open Manage Custom Payment Methods
Scroll to the Manage payment methods section. Click + New Payment Method (or the Add button shown when no custom methods exist).
- 5
Add a custom method
Type the name your team will see at checkout — e.g. 'ATH Móvil', 'Wire transfer', 'In-store credit'. Click Add another payment method to add more rows. Empty names are blocked when saving.
- 6
Delete a method
Click the trash icon on any row to remove a custom method.
- 7
Click Save Changes
The modal closes. Your new custom methods appear in the checkout payment-method picker immediately.
Pro tips
- Custom payment methods are typed values — they don't connect to any external service. The money still needs to clear separately (e.g. confirm the bank app shows the transfer landed before you mark the order paid).
- On a split payment the fee is charged on the card portion only, not on the whole order total.
