Commissions

Who earned this commission?

Write the rule once and Lunix runs it on every sale — including the part nobody else handles: what happens to the commission when the customer brings it back.

How it works today

1The rule lives in a WhatsApp message from three months ago.
2Someone recalculates it by hand at the end of the month.
3A sale gets returned in March and nobody claws back February's payout.

How it works in Lunix

The rule says itself back to you, before you save it

Six steps: a template, who it covers, what it pays on, how much, who earns it and when it is paid. Nothing is written until the last one, so cancelling halfway leaves nothing behind. Then the plan states itself in a sentence — which is the difference between a rule your team accepts and a rule they relitigate every month.

Commission plans · How it reads

Counter staff earn 4% of the line total on accessories: 60% to the account's rep and 40% to whoever rings it up, with 25% held back until 30 days after the sale, paid on the 15th of the following month.

Earned is not the same as payable — and a return takes it back

Commission on an invoice the customer has not paid yet is not money you owe. Neither is the slice parked in case the thing comes back. Lunix keeps the four apart, so the payout run pays what is genuinely ready and the rest is accounted for instead of argued about.

Commission Center · Where the money sits before it is paid
Accrued$412.80
Invoiced and the customer has not paid. It frees up when they do.
Held$268.40
Part of it is parked in case of a return. It frees up on the date you set.
Payable$1,284.60
Earned and ready. It goes into the next payout run.
Reversed−$96.20
Taken back by a return or a cancellation. It comes off the next run.

Every row says where its number came from

The ledger is one row per thing the rules produced, with the order behind it and the person it belongs to — and, when it is not payable yet, the reason. Then you pay the period to everybody, to a few, or to one; who paid, when, and the exact range are recorded on the run.

Moving a shop onto plans does not cut anyone off. Employees who are not on a plan yet keep earning from the old per-employee setup, and Lunix tells you how many are still on it — so nobody silently stops getting paid halfway through a migration.

Pay the commission your rule actually says.
