How to read and correct the timesheet

A row is a shift, not a punch — where to find the punches inside it, and how to fix one.

The most common complaint about a timesheet is that it "only shows the last thing". It is not hiding anything: one row is one whole shift, and the four punches inside it — in, break, back, out — live one click away.

  1. 1

    Open the timesheet

Go to Settings → Team Hub → Clock in / Clock out. Every shift for the period is listed with the employee, the location it was worked at, the status, and the hours.

  2. 2

Read a row as a shift

One row is one shift, from clock-in to clock-out. A finished shift reads Clocked out — that is a state, not an instruction. The hours column is the shift's total with breaks already taken off.

  3. 3

    Open the Punches column

Beside the status is a Punches column with one small mark per punch, in the order they happened, breaks in a different colour. Click it and the shift opens up: clocked in, break started, back from break, clocked out, each with its time.

  4. 4

See where each punch came from

Every punch says where it was recorded, which is what makes a disagreement solvable:

    • From the app — the employee's own device.
    • From the time clock — a shared tablet, named so you know which one.
    • Entered by a manager — a manual correction, with the manager's name on it.
    • Closed automatically — nobody clocked out and Lunix closed the shift.
  5. 5

Understand a shift with no punches

Shifts older than the punch record show a line saying they were rebuilt from the shift's times. Nothing is wrong — those shifts were recorded before individual punches were kept, so Lunix reconstructs the timeline from the clock-in, the breaks and the clock-out rather than showing you an empty modal.

  6. 6

    Correct a time

Edit the punch that is wrong and give the correction a reason. It is stamped as entered by a manager with your name, so the original and the fix both stay visible. Nothing is overwritten silently.

  7. 7

Add a shift somebody never recorded

For an employee who forgot entirely, use the manual clock-in rather than editing another shift. It lands as a manager entry and reads honestly on the record.

Pro tip

  • A shift belongs to the store, not to a location. You will see shifts worked at every branch here, each labelled — which is the point, since this is the one place that has to reconcile them.
  • Look for shifts closed automatically. Every one of them is somebody who walked out without clocking out, and the hours are a guess until you fix them.
