This is not the same as adding a location. A location is a new branch of a store you already own. Linking brings in a store that already exists somewhere else — a partner's shop, a business you took over, a second account somebody set up before you were involved.
- 1
Know which one you need
If you are opening a new branch of your own business, add a location instead — it shares your catalog, your users and your plan. Link an existing store only when the store already exists under its own account.
- 2
Open Link an existing store
From your store list, choose to link an existing store. The screen walks you through signing in to the other account.
- 3
Sign in to the account that owns it
You have to sign in to the account that owns the store you want to link. This is the security boundary: you cannot pull in somebody else's store without their credentials, which is deliberate.
- 4
Complete two-factor if that account has it
If the owning account has two-factor authentication on, you will be asked for the 6-digit code from its authenticator app, or a backup code. Have that to hand before you start rather than halfway through.
- 5
Confirm what you are linking
The screen shows how many locations the store has, so you can confirm you have the right one before completing it.
- 6
Find it in your store list
Once linked, the store appears in your store list and you can switch to it. Each linked store keeps its own settings — its own stock, its own registers, its own sequences.
Pro tip
- Linking does not merge anything. Two linked stores stay two stores with separate catalogs and separate reports; you are gaining the ability to switch, not combining businesses.
- This screen is still shown in English in some places. The flow is the same regardless of the language you use Lunix in.
