How to use the in-app walkthroughs

Guided tours of each screen, grouped by what you are trying to do, replayable whenever you forget.

Reading a guide and being walked through the actual screen are different things. Lunix has a guided walkthrough for most screens, and they live in one place so you do not have to stumble onto them.

  1. 1

    Open How it works

Look for the How it works launcher. It opens "How it works in Lunix" — a list of guided walkthroughs of each screen, which you can replay whenever you want.

  2. 2

Pick by what you are trying to do

The tours are grouped into four areas rather than by menu order:

    • Selling — the sell screen, your first sale, orders.
    • Stock — products, inventory, purchase orders, returns.
    • Money — the cash register, finances, expenses, reports.
    • People — customers, accounts receivable, the team hub.
  3. 3

    Start with the dashboard tour

If you are new, take the tour of your main screen first. It is the screen you will see every morning, and knowing what each card means saves you hunting through menus for something that was already in front of you.

  4. 4

Pick up where you left off

A tour you abandoned halfway remembers: it tells you that you stopped on step 4 of 9 and offers Continue. You do not have to restart from the beginning.

  5. 5

Replay one whenever you need it

Each tour shows whether it has been seen and when. Replay is there for the screen you use once a month and forget every time — the taxes report, the stocktake review.

  6. 6

    Use it to train somebody

This is the fastest way to onboard a new hire. Sit them in front of the tour center with the four areas and let them work through Selling before their first shift.

Pro tip

  • The seen and not-seen markers are per person, so a new employee gets their own clean list rather than yours.
  • A tour walks the real screen with your real data. That makes it more useful than a video, and it also means you should take the destructive ones — like approving a count — on a quiet afternoon.
